Just a few things about me . . .

My name is Jim.

I’m a former US Marine.

I have 13 years of experience working as a software developer with a variety of Internet technologies.

Although the bulk of my experience is on the back-end with Java, I’m equally comfortable with a diverse set of other frameworks and languages like PHP, Grails, and Python. Django is one of my favorites and my personal apps are generally built using it.

I really enjoy working on the front-end of applications. I believe that a software developer should be as knowledgeable with CSS, JavaScript and other front-end tech as they are writing the back-end code.

My experience is fairly diverse ranging from credit card processing, consulting, health care quality improvement, e-commerce and e-government.
